Our mentor program matches our youth with adult role models who provide positive life and career advice or just a listening ear. A mentor is a trusted advisor and confidant who sees the potential in someone and encourages them to explore their capabilities. The program helps our young people establish a valuable relationship and improve their decision-making skills. Thus, relationships are created and fostered.
The match process is based on the needs of the youth. These needs could be similar interests, goals and preferences. We are looking for mentors who are established in their career, who have lived experience, share similar goals and interests with our youth, have flexibility, are open-minded, non-judgmental and have volunteer experience in a similar type of setting is an asset.
